86100D-202 Enhanced Impedance and S-Parameter Software for 86100D DCA-X Oscilloscopes

The demand for greater transfer of voice, data and video over networks and the increasing demand by users for higher productivity have dramatically increased the need for higher speed signals. These signals place a greater burden on the physical channel and have stimulated the need for differential channels in serial data transfers. New and existing industry standards such as IEEE 802.3, OIF CEI and SFF-8000 series increasingly call for the use of S-parameters to ensure system element verification and interoperability.
Keysight Technologies, Inc. has significantly updated the 86100D-202 software, offering an even easier-to-use application within the FlexDCA interface. Option 202 provides the ability to display live S-parameter magnitude, phase and group delay measurement results and save touchstone files when testing a DUT in TDR mode.

Complete S-parameters – Obtained quickly
Select industry-leading hardware
Configure your oscilloscope with 54754A or N1055A TDR modules, enabling full characterization of up to four differential lanes. The fast and clean TDR step enables parameter verification up to 50 GHz with N1055A TDR modules and up to 20GHz with 54754A modules.
Enjoy multi-lane analysis
Most new standards employ at least four differential lanes, which means more measurements need to be taken. With Option 202, full frequency domain characterization and comparison of lanes is no longer time-consuming as you view differential lane performance side-by-side. Analyze up to 16 ports with N1055A TDR modules or up to 4 ports with 54754A TDR modules.
View S-parameter magnitude, phase and group delay
With 86100D option 202 you can view live s-parameter magnitude, phase and group delay responses.

Simultaneous viewing of single-ended, mixed mode and differential S-parameters
The user can enable all TDR steps within a single TDR module and the DCA-X software will control the TDR steps to display whatever frequency domain responses are requested by the user. This enables simultaneous displays of single-ended, mixed-mode and differential frequency domain responses, as shown below.
