Small semi-anechoic chamber with RF isolation, filtered data connections, and built-in turntable for OTA wireless device testing.

Highlights

The Octobox Small Semi-Anechoic Chamber provides complete radio frequency (RF) isolation for over-the-air (OTA) wireless device testing, using absorber foam surfaces and high-rejection filters to prevent external interference from breaching the test environment.

Chamber performance

  • 90 dB isolation (>70 dB for DC filter); no Wi-Fi traffic detected up to 7 GHz at close range
  • 20 dB absorption from 1.3 to 40 GHz; >15 dB absorption down to 600 MHz
  • Supports 600 MHz – 7.2 GHz operating frequency range
  • Two sizes available: Box-18 (18.4" × 18.4" × 30.9") and Box-38 (24" × 38.35" × 31.2")

Connectivity and filtering

  • Filtered gigabit Ethernet with power over Ethernet (PoE), USB, HDMI, and DC power connections
  • 20 SubMiniature version A (SMA) RF barrel connectors plus 1 F-connector and 1 trigger SMA connector
  • Waveguide port for fiber optic or non-metallic cable feeds
  • Peel-and-stick replaceable gasketing for long-term isolation maintenance

Built-in turntable (BOX-38-TT)

  • Software-controllable device under test (DUT) rotation, 0 – 10 rpm
  • ±1° angular positioning accuracy
  • Up to 10 kg payload capacity
  • Ethernet and USB control interfaces; automates multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) throughput measurements vs. orientation and range

Applications

  • Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be), Bluetooth, and cellular (GSM, UMTS, LTE, FDD, TD-LTE, LTE-Advanced) testing
  • Antenna pattern measurement and RX dynamic range testing
  • Throughput vs. range vs. orientation measurements
  • Certification testing
