54750A Operating System Firmware Upgrades
The operating sytem firmware upgrades are in self-extracting archive files. They MUST be extracted before loading into the instrument.
To download firmware
- Create a temporary directory on your computer hard drive.
- Click on firmware title listed below. Save it to the temporary directory.
- Extract by selecting the temporary directory and unzip the .exe file by double-clicking on the file, or use Run to extract the file (hp547xx.cmp).
- Executable contains two files: hp547xx.cmp (firmware upgrade) and readme (explanation of upgrade).
- Format a 1.4 Mbyte 3.5" floppy disk in DOS format. It is best to format the disk in the Keysight 54750A mainframe.
- Important - label disk with model number and firmware revision. All firmware revisions have the same file name (hp547xx.cmp).
- Insert the DOS formated 3.5" floppy disk in you computer disk drive.
- Copy the extracted file (hp547xx.cmp) from the temporary directory to the 3.5" floppy.
To upgrade the Keysight 54750A operating system firmware
- Insert the floppy disk containing the firmware in the instrument disk drive.
- Press Utility/System config.../Update system firmware/Continue.
- It will take approximately 7 minutes to complete the upgrade.
Notes:
- Updating the system firmware will erase any waveforms or states stored in memory.
- Updating the system firmware will erase the plug-in vertical calibration. Perform a plug-in calibration after upgrading system firmware.
- Updating the system firmware will not affect the mainframe calibration status.
- Updating the system firmware will not affect factory optical calibration of the modules.
