Keysight Technologies Achieves Next Generation eCall PSAP Certification from DEKRA

Keysight has attained Next Generation (NG) eCall Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) certification from DEKRA, a renowned expert in safety and quality.

The shift to NG eCall is driven by the need to align with modern telecommunications infrastructure. As mobile network operators phase out 2G and 3G networks, the NG eCall system harnesses 4G and 5G networks, using the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) to enable IP-based multimedia services. This transition ensures emergency call systems remain robust and effective, providing precise location data and reliable communication channels between vehicles and PSAPs.

All New Vehicles Must Have NG eCall

The European Union has updated its regulations to support this transition, emphasizing the integration of NG eCall systems in new vehicles to enhance road safety and emergency response times. These regulations mandate that all new vehicles must be equipped with NG eCall systems, ensuring compliance with the latest safety standards from CEN TS 17240:2024.
