Overview

Introduction

The Keysight M9730G Series AXIe Digital Acquisition and Processing Modules combine a high-speed waveform digitizer with built-in digital signal processing hardware, which enables mixed-domain signal capture and analysis with a high-speed data transfer link to a computer.

These digitizers address demanding ATE and OEM systems applications in aerospace/defense, communications, advanced physics, astronomy, semiconductors, and a variety of other disciplines. Now product options like real-time digital down conversion, multi-module time synchronization and an Infiniium hosted interface for digitizers are available to further enhance measurement capability.

The M9730G Series of AXIe waveform digitizers offers three models. The M9734G has 4 channels with 10 Gsa/s sampling and 4 GHz bandwidth. The M9732G has 2 channels with 20 Gsa/s sampling and 8 GHz bandwidth. The M9731G has 1 channel with 40 Gsa/s sampling and 13 GHz bandwidth. These digitizers have 8-bit vertical resolution A/D converters in a single-slot AXIe format.

The M9730G Series digitizers combine outstanding signal fidelity and waveform capture with quad FPGA hardware real-time processing and up to 8-lane 5 GT/s PCIe Gen2 bus to the AXIe chassis backplane.

Keysight’s Signal Display Soft Front Panel (SFP) control software is supplied for signal capture and visualization up to available computer internal memory capacity.

You can export deep waveform data for import into Matlab, Excel, or a variety of other computation and math software using the provided GSA Software Development Kit (GSA SDK). With up to 128 GB onboard memory, the instrument provides the longest waveform capture time window currently available for 40 Gsa/s sampling rate acquisitions.

The M9730G Series' modular architecture is built on the industry-standard AXIe platform, and allows you to protect your system investment by allowing for future computer upgrades or multi-channel configurations.

Acquisition system

At the heart of the M9730G Series Waveform Digitizers are Keysight’s state-of-the-art proprietary and custom low-noise front end and real-time analog-to-digital converter (ADC) ASICs, which provide high-speed waveform capture. Hardware-accelerated frequency response equalization further improves the signal fidelity and effective number of bits (ENOB).

At the maximum sampling rate of 40 Gsa/s (25 psec per point), the M9731G module can capture up to 3 seconds of a real-time waveform into its ultra-long acquisition memory – 120 Gpts for single-channel configuration.
