Introducing the Evolution of High-Speed Ethernet Testing
Audio Video networks have been analog, one-way and point-to-point specialized networks. With IEEE’s efforts to improve the reliability and synchronization in Ethernet, Audio Video networks are fast converging to Ethernet. These networks now need to keep pace with the bandwidth hungry audio and video applications. Equipment manufacturers have already built many 10G AVB capable switches. Now they need to build AVB capable switches with 40G capabilities. As audio/video network service providers and large enterprises use this same equipment in their own networks, they must also test and verify performance and functionality prior to deployment. XcellonMultis AVB is Ixia’s next-generation architecture and test solution to satisfy a wide range of testing needs of high speed AVB and LAN networks.
Ixia’s XM AVB load module family comprises the industry’s highest-density 10GE and 40GE higher speed Ethernet (HSE) test equipment, providing more flexible test coverage at 6x40GE ports per load module, with a dual-rate 40GE/10GE capability, all in a single-slot load module. XM AVB load module employs innovative 10GE fan-out technology, a new paradigm in Ethernet testing, to allow the higher-speed 40GE port to fan-out to four lower speed 10GE ports. This ultra-dense load module brings a higher return on investment by reducing overall costs associated with product licensing, space, power, and cooling.
