Highlights

PathWave Device Modeling 2022 Update 2.0 includes the following capabilities:

  • A new API to Python’s HDF5 module has been added. Examples show how to create an HDF5 database with IC-CAP WaferPro and select, filter, sort, and display data from an HDF5 database file.
  • The status window Stop Button functionality has been enhanced and now will stop the execution of any number or combination of Python and PEL scripts that may be called sequentially from a top-level Macro or Transform.
  • The IC-CAP Python API family of set_return functions now support setting a 'common' Transform Dataset type (using argument data_type='C'). This new function supports a Pandas DataFrame and the existing list, tuple, zip, and NumPy Array formats.
  • The advanced spice simulator link now supports if-then-else in netlists enabling engineers to tune and optimize parameters defined in if-then-else blocks. The advanced spice netlist parser is available for HSPICE netlists used in conjunction with Synopsys’ HSPICE or Keysight’s ADS simulators. This parser uses a richer set of HSPICE language features.
  • Diode measurements have been added to the CMOS BSIMSOI4 Modeling Package.
  • The Power Electronics Model Generator (PEMG) IGBT and SiC modules now generate PSPICE compatible netlist based on the extracted model parameters.
  • This release includes several bug fixes (see Release Notes for details)

PathWave Device Modeling 2022 Update 2.0 is available now!

Description

PathWave Device Modeling 2022 Update 2.0 continues to enhance Python 3 capabilities by adding the new HDF5 API and delivering further improvements to our Python 3 API. The Python HDF5 module is a high-performance data software library and file format to manage, process, and store heterogeneous data, such as those typically used in Device Modeling. HDF5 is built for fast I/O processing and storage, making it ideal for storing measured device characterization data from several wafers, dies, devices, and temperatures.

With the new HDF5 API you can easily export data from IC-CAP to an HDF5 database file. An example WaferPro project is provided to illustrate how to save measured data collected from different wafers, dies, and devices to HDF5. Once the data are in a single HDF5 file, the new IC-CAP HDF5 API allows you to create queries to filter and import data back into IC-CAP.

A new advanced spice netlist parser is available for HSPICE netlists used in conjunction with Synopsys’ HSPICE or Keysight’s ADS simulators. This new parser allows IC-CAP to understand parameters, nodes, and other information in the Circuit page using a richer set of HSPICE language features.
